Assembly & Placement Defects - Cracked Component

Component cracking during placement is unusual today on modern placement equipment. It is more likely to be seen on older placement systems with mechanical centring. In the case of double sided assembly, cracking may occur due to the incorrect positioning of board support systems on printing or placement.

Careful evaluation of components will eliminate the use of less robust parts. The faults may not actually be seen until soldering operations
