Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) has been awarded a research and development contract by the Telematics & Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN) research division of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), for the study of high sensitivity satellite navigation.

The contract which is in the context of ETRI’s Indoor/Outdoor Seamless Positioning Technologies Development Programme means that ADI will be working on developing advanced satellite navigation systems which will be destined for next generation consumer solutions. The algorithms investigated at ADI will enable tracking the user’s position in environments where current GPS receivers are not able to operate. This is the first contract to be awarded to ADI from an international overseas based company.

Commenting on the contract Ged Powell, Chief Executive Officer of ADI said, “This is further recognition of the expertise we are building within ADI. To be awarded a contract from an internationally recognised organisation such as ETRI, is confirmation of ADI’s ability to collaborate with companies at the leading-edge of technology innovation.”
