Leading Light joins Advanced Digital Institute Print E-mail

The Advanced Digital Institute (ADI), the country’s first intermediate technology development centre based in Airedale, West Yorkshire is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Ian Duncan Robertson as non executive director to the board of directors. A professor in Microwave and Millimetre-Wave Integrated Circuits at Leeds University, he is a leading light in his field.

Professor Robertson who is world renowned in the areas of Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC) and Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) design, has been a major influence in the world of wireless consumer electronics, in particular mobile phones, satellite navigation and Wi-Fi. He has published several books, over 100 Academic Journals and 350 research papers. He has also been awarded research grants from major multi national organisations such as Nokia and Ericsson.

Professor Robertson said, “I am pleased to have been appointed non executive director of the ADI. To be a part of such a forward thinking organisation is very exciting. I am very much looking forward to working with the ADI’s board in making the Institute not only a national but an international success.”

As director of learning and teaching at Leeds University, Professor Robertson will also be involved in collaborating with the ADI, offering students the opportunity to work on exciting industry-led design challenges at the forefront of technology.

The Advanced Digital Institute is an intermediate technology development centre helping companies identify and develop new high-value products and services. It is funded by a £2M Yorkshire Forward contract, Bradford Metropolitan District Council support and the EU Regional Fund.
