The Atlanta Chapter of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) announced today that SMTA Expo, its one-day conference and trade show event on April 19, will feature free technical sessions of interest to electronics professionals. Technical sessions will be held from 10 am – 11 am and 1 pm – 2 pm at the Gwinnett Civic Center in Duluth, Georgia.
The two morning sessions are "Lead-free PCB Fabrication and Assembly," presented by Glenn Sikorcin and Jim Wertin of FCT Assembly and "FIRST Robotics: Bringing Real-World Engineering to Local High Schools," featuring the award-winning Wheeler High School Circuit Runners and their coach, Jeffrey Rosen. The afternoon sessions include a presentation by Matthew Lake with Isola Group entitled "Impact of RoHS and Lead-Free on Printed Circuit Laminates" and a panel presentation "Busting the Myths of Supply Chain Management."
A Webinar presentation focusing on China RoHS will also be available for viewing during the SMTA Expo. In addition, industry vendors will be making brief presentations throughout the day on the trade show floor.
The SMTA Expo is a free, one-day event Thursday, April 19 from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Gwinnett Civic Center that includes a trade show featuring suppliers to the electronics industry, as well as numerous networking opportunities. A charity raffle with all proceeds to benefit The Joseph Sams School, a private, non-profit school serving special needs children, http://www.josephsams.org, is also planned.
