IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries has awarded certification to RiverSide Electronics, Ltd., a full service provider of electronic manufacturing services in Lewiston, Minn., under IPC’s Certification for Lead Free Electronics Assembly Process Capability Program.
Commenting on the certification, RiverSide General Manager, Gregg Reick, noted, “RiverSide is proud to receive the certification. It demonstrates our commitment to be an industry leader and has solidified our processes and capabilities in lead free manufacturing.”
“RiverSide Electronics joins a growing list of companies that have chosen IPC’s certification program to demonstrate their lead free process capabilities to their customers,” said John Kania, IPC director of assembly industry programs. “The value of the audit program extended beyond the validation of RiverSide’s lead free preparedness. The program also provided RiverSide with constructive feedback they can use to enhance their existing lead free processes,” added Kania.
The IPC Certification for Lead Free Electronics Assembly Process Capability is an audit of an electronics assembly facility – whether it’s an OEM or EMS facility – to determine if the facility is capable of producing product to meet the lead free requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The audit is not designed to ensure that a facility will produce RoHS lead free compliant products. The certification program is an excellent way for a facility to validate its lead free electronics assembly process capabilities and to impress upon its customers and suppliers its commitment to excellence.
